Report on Campus Placement Programme – February-March, 2017

The Committee for Professional Accountants in Business & Industry (CPABI) of ICAI has since long been organizing Campus Placement Programmes for Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants twice a year and is committed to provide world class placement services to those talents in various corporations and business houses.

In its endeavor to provide quality Accounting, Finance, Tax, Audit and Management Consultancy personnel to recruiting entities, the Committee has successfully organised one more round of Campus Placement Programme for the Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants at twenty one (9 bigger and 12 smaller) centres viz. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Baroda, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Durgapur, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Thane and Vasai in February-March, 2017.

Salient features

  1. Candidates are eligible to take part interview in two centres, one smaller and another bigger; in the event of being selected in a smaller centre, he/she is not allowed to participate in interviews held at bigger centres, subsequently.
  2. The committee, as a matter of routine practice, organises Orientation Programme (mandatory now) for candidates so as to sharpen the soft skills of candidates and to provide them technical updates. Currently, it was held in all the 22 centres, including Ludhiana.

Chartered Accountant Salary – Placement Sept 2015

The 42nd edition of the campus placement programme for the newly-qualified chartered accountants was organised at 19 centres across the country in two phases, where 7,358 candidates registered to avail themselves of placement facility. In the first phase, placement was conducted at 13 smaller centres where 296 offers were made to the candidates. In the second phase, the programme was conducted at 6 bigger centres, where 903 offers were made to the successful candidates. Altogether, I am happy to acknowledge that 87 organisations with their 163 interview teams participated, which included public-sector undertakings and banks. Trident Ltd. offered the highest salary, i.e. 21 lakh per annum, in this programme in Chandigarh and Indore.

I am happy to inform that the ICAI is also organizing an international placement through video conference in December 2015 in six metro cities, i.e. Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi.

  1. Highest salary offered for Domestic posting in the Campus Placement Programme is Rs. 21.00 lacs Per Annum (TCTC) offered by Trident Limited at Chandigarh & Indore centers to 9 candidates.
  2. Average CTC offered is Rs 7.61 Lacs Per Annum.
  3. 1231* jobs were offered to the candidates who had participated in Campus Placement Programme.
  4. 88 organizations and 164 Interview Teams have participated during the Campus Placement Programme.

Salient features

  1. Candidates were given two chances to meet the recruiting organisations via opting for two centers, first at smaller center and second (if the candidates has not been selected at smaller centers) at bigger centers.

The Committee for Members in Industry (CMII) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) takes care of the interest of the members who are in industry and organizes Campus Placement Programmes for Chartered Accountants. The CMII is pleased to announce the next Campus Placement Programme for Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants during August-September 2015.This programme would provide an opportunity to the employers to interact with newly qualified Chartered Accountants peruse their particulars and recruit the suitable one in their organizations. An organisation and firms of Chartered Accountants may participate at one or more centres and recruit Chartered Accountants.

Advantages of Participating in the Campus Placement Programme of CMII of ICAI

  1. a) The CMII of ICAI organizes Campus Placement Programmes at 22 centres across the country in a corporate environment and the pre process of interview is highly technologically driven through placement portal http://placement.icai.org.
  2. b) It is a One Stop solution for the recruiters to recruit the Chartered Accountants for their organisations and carries the advantage of being a unitary platform for the recruitment of the young Chartered Accountants.
  3. c) It is a Cost effective mode with significantly shorter recruitment cycles, for the corporates for recruiting young Chartered Accountants together with an improved quality of recruitment process.
  4. d) Another advantage of Campus Placement is that, after the declaration of results, ICAI holds the Campus Placement Programme which reduces the time for an organisation to pick the candidates according to their need.
  5. e) The arrangements for the conduct of the entire process at all the centres are made by CMII of ICAI.

Chartered Accountant Salary – Placement March 2015

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India had organised another set of Campus Placements for Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants in the month of Feb-March 2015 for those candidates who had attained the Chartered Accountancy Qualification in the CA Final Results which were announced in the month of Jan 2015.

The Placement Program was conducted at 19 Centres across India and the following are the highlights of the same

  1. Highest Chartered Accountant Salary for International Posting was Rs. 30 Lakhs p.a. offered by Tolaram Group Industries to 8 Candidates at Bangaluru & Kolkata Center.
  2. Highest Chartered Accountant Salary for Domestic Posting was Rs. 21.50 Lakhs p.a. offered by Bharti Airtel to 2 Candidates at New Delhi Center.
  3. Avg Chartered Accountant Salary offered was Rs. 7.20 Lakhs p.a. (CTC i.e. Cost to Company).
  4. 90 entities comprising of CA Firms & Companies participated in the Campus Program with a total of 183 Interview Panels being formed.
  5. Total 1370 Candidates were offered a Job in the Campus Placement organised by ICAI in the month of Feb-Mar 2015.

Chartered Accountants were 2 chances of appearing for the campus interviews – first in the bigger cities and if they were not successful in getting recruited at the bigger cities, then they were offered another chance to appear for Campus Placements in the smaller cities. ICAI had also organised an Orientation Program for grooming the soft-skills of all the Candidates.

All the Candidates were also provided e-learning opportunity on 2 topics namely Business Etiquette – Gaining that Extra Edge and Mastering the Interview.

The Next Campus Placement Program for Chartered Accountants would be held in the month of Aug-Sept 2015 after the Announcement of May 2015 Attempt Results which are expected to be announced in the third week of July.

The Schedule for Campus Placements to be held in Aug-Sept 2015 has already been prepared and it would be held across 22 cities in India. The Last Date for Registration for the same is 31st July for 1st Round of Registration for Candidates and 10th Aug for 2nd Round of Registration which is for Bigger Cities only.

The Campus Placement Interviews would be held in different cities on different dates starting from 14th August 2015 and ending on 19th Sept 2015.

Guidelines to Candidates applying for ICAI Campus Placements Aug-Sept 2015

  1. Only candidates who have cleared both groups of CA Final and will complete their GMCS before 31st Oct 2015 are allowed to appear for the Campus Placements to be held in Aug-Sept 2015.
  2. A Non Refundable Fees of Rs. 250 would be required to be paid by all candidates who are interested in appearing for the campus placements.
  3. A Candidate can appear for Interviews in only 4 organisations irrespective of the fact that he/she is shortlisted by several organisations.
  4. If a candidate is able to clear all rounds of Interviews and the Offer Letter is awarded and accepted by him, then he would not be allowed to appear for any other campus interview.
